I keep getting thrown curve balls but God is my catchers mitt and I thank God that he catches me every time! No matter how hard things are we need to get back up and keep going. Some of you out there will understand how it can be when it’s just you to do everything and wonder how you will ever get it all done. I’ve been there for a long time but this past year it’s really taken a toll. When you work 40+ hours a week, pay all your own bills, try to help others as much as possible, do all of your own house work, yard work etc. it doesn’t leave much time for you and you get overwhelmed sometimes to the point you don’t feel like you are doing any good for anyone including yourself.
Well that’s when it’s time to disconnect for awhile and get yourself back on track. I did that recently and while I’m still not 100% things are a whole lot better and I feel more like myself again. I’m getting back into creating again, mostly just in the planning stages and getting organized but it’s a beginning. I just wanted to share and say to everyone don’t let yourself get discouraged and blindsided. It’s OK to take some time reset and start again. God will show you how and there are others (such as myself) that are willing to listen and help when we can.
Here is a little something I did awhile ago that I wanted to share. Hopefully it will give a little inspiration or at least a short break and spark your creativity.
I started this blog and didn’t get very far before I was thrown several curve balls and haven’t gotten very far with it! Working to change that and continue the Journey I started. My desire here is to share things I’ve been through, am going through, enjoy to do and all the ways I am designing my life as a way to help others see how they can design their own lives and be genuinely themselves.
First and foremost is my belief that God has a plan for my life and I’m sure his design for my life is better than what I can even imagine when I plan and design for my own life. We have to be ourselves and not what others want us to be or we will never be what God wants us to be. We can observe others but we can never be someone else no matter how much we like what we see. We have to be genuinely ourselves. We have to take the time to seek Gods purpose in our life, know our own desires, likes, dislikes, talents, etc. and be able to mesh them all together. It is a struggle and a very long journey at times.
I am about to undertake a 60 day journey that has me excited, conflicted, self conscious, and even a little scared! I believe God has brought me to this journey and will bring me through it with a better understanding of several things including bettering my health. There isn’t a a lot I can share on this at the moment, but will share more as I can, and ask for all the prayers I can get to help lift me up through this journey. I am hoping and praying that at the end of it there is much I can share, that will help others that have some of the same issues I have to be able to help themselves as well.
In the mean time I will try to be better at sharing more of my crazy life, crafting, cooking and other thing I enjoy and lots of Joy for the Journey!
Facebook live is one of the things that I am trying to learn so that I can share more of the things I do with others and all of you. Here in the past several months I have been trying to Up My Game so to speak and bring you along with me. I started this blog, Getting my Facebook pages up to date, My YouTube channel up to date and slowly but surely getting things posted, all while working a full time job. I have three companies at the moment that I work with for different things. I have only tried FaceBook Live for a couple of video’s, and I must say it’s a challenge trying to figure it all out. I post mine unedited because I believe life is unedited and we all have our issues, besides who doesn’t like to see the bloopers lol. If we can’t laugh at ourselves and our mess ups we are way too serious about life.
Hopefully my link below will work and you can see my latest FB live video that I uploaded to my YouTube channel. I’m still trying to get the hang of putting things in here too and so appreciate all your understanding in my learning process! https://youtu.be/z04VEVAthrs
I wanted to get healthier and I love tea which is good for you so a few years ago I signed up with Tealighful Tea http://www.tealightfultea.net/1049 and I must say I love their tea and their other products as well. I love having such a variety of flavors to choose from and all of the different things you can make to drink using a healthy tea base. Nix the sugar and chemicals of so many other drinks out there and you have a healthier beverage with flavor as an option to go along with all the water we should be drinking anyway.
I also wanted to get away from the harmful chemicals in so many of our hair care, skin care, and makeup selections available too. That is where Lemongrass Spa came in www.ourlemongrassspa.com/7337 They have amazing products without all of the chemicals that can be very harmful, especially with prolonged exposure to them.
Then alas one of my biggest passions is creating crafts of all kinds and I came upon a company called Stampin’ Up http://www.deesdesigns.stampinup.net At first glance you would think that the products here are just for scrapbooking and paper crafting like making cards. But I have used them to create a variety of things not just cards and scrapbook pages. One of the things I have done is a framed canvas I did for my church showing the Est. date and a sunset mountain scene using a combination of inks, embossing paste, and paper on canvas, so it does awesome with mixed media projects as well.
I will be posting more and more to all of my pages, as time allows and updating everything in here and I thank you all for coming along with the journey and I look forward to sharing much more with you in the future.
When I started this blog I had all kinds of ideas of the things I wanted to do and include here. I still have all those ideas rolling around in my head and so much I want to share. Things to have fun with, things to help others with sharing ideas and learning from others ideas and so much more.
I’ve had a lot happen since I first set this in motion and even though life has been a roller coaster I still intend to share what I can and hope to inspire others to keep going despite their own setbacks.
One thing positive that has happened is what I’ve been referring to as Hurricane Dennise LOL. I bought a house two years ago now and it has been a work in progress. I had (and still have) intentions of redoing my single car garage into a craft space and workshop, but due to things that happened during the purchase that were beyond my control I didn’t end up getting back money at closing that I was supposed to in order to not lose the house because of seller errors. I had planned on using that money to do the garage. Since I haven’t been able to get it done my craft things have been tucked a little in this room and a little in that room because I didn’t have a dedicated space for it. Let me lay the scene, it was about 5pm on a Saturday afternoon and I had been working on a project and stopped for a bit to take a break. When I sat down to take a break I got for a better term angry! My house was a mess!! Not just one area where I was working but literally from one end of the house to the other because my supplies were strung out everywhere. That is when Hurricane Dennise was born. I decided split second that, that was it I was changing everything around and having a dedicated space. The one end of my living room where I had a desk and some of my craft supplies was to become my dining area now and my dining room and den area were getting completely moved around to become a dedicated craft space that now if need be I can walk away from close a door and not be upset because my whole house is a wreck. I wish I had thought to take pictures before I started moving the big furniture but I did think to take ones of the chaos after moving the big stuff with all the totes and boxes and stuff piled up and stacked everywhere from the moving. I’m showing the after Hurricane Dennise hit pictures before the clean up and the after clean up below. Maybe not the best way to go about getting something done but hey I’m human what can I say. Have you ever had a human moment where you went into Hurricane mode? Please share your experience in comments and let me know I’m not the only one! At least now I have my dedicated space and come the first of the year I plan on getting back on track and doing more video’s and things to share so I hope you are prepared to come on a journey with me and lets learn new things and share all of our perspectives together.

Despite our setbacks whether it be getting sick ourselves, or having family in and out of the hospital, work related, time issues (all of which I’ve had in the past couple of months plus more) what ever those setbacks are my prayer is that we won’t lose site of where it is that God is trying to take us and we never give up. I truly believe that sometimes God is trying to tell us we need to take a break and let our own body regenerate while we listen for his direction and if we don’t he will find a way to stop us in our tracks to make us take the time. In this crazy world we live in we get going so fast that we can’t see our path for the forest in front of us. Take time especially now with the holidays to do your own regrouping and focusing to be the best you, you can be to start the quickly coming new year.
If I don’t get to post before then I would like to wish everyone a Christ filled Merry Christmas and the most Awesome New Year!!
I was home from work sick yesterday and really didn’t feel like doing anything. I hate those days because it makes me feel even worse that there are things needing to be done that aren’t getting done.
I don’t know about you but I have a very hard time taking time for ME. Especially when I can see so many things needing to be done. I have come to the conclusion in the past couple of years though that it is a wise thing to listen to our bodies when it’s telling us we need to rest and rejuvenate. I’ve also discovered that if you don’t listen and do so on your own God will do it for you and make it so you just plain can’t function so you will slow down and do what he’s been trying to get you to do.
Yesterday was one of those days for me. I had been up and down all night and still didn’t feel good when it came time to get up for work. I text everyone and let them know I wouldn’t be in. I finally was able to get to sleep and slept for a couple of hours. I finally decided to get up and make myself a pot of tea. Well it hit me I’ve been wanting to start making video’s on the teas that I sell and since I’m making a full pot this would be a good time to start.
I grabbed my camera (phone) propped it up ready to go got my tea and my teapot, set the water to heating and a video was born. It didn’t take much effort which was a good thing! It didn’t turn out the best, since I forgot that when you turn the video on it automatically for some reason zooms in just a little and I had it too close to my teapot so it was closer up than what I was wanting. I also was having a voice problem but it was me and a day in my life like I’m sure we all have at times. The one thing I liked about this video was that you can show not only how to still be productive when you’re sick and don’t feel like it, but that we are all human and have those days just like everyone else. It’s nothing to be upset about and we don’t need to cut ourselves down for not being able to do what we THINK we should be doing. I have learned to take these days and make them into positive days and days to spend extra time communicating and conversing with God. If you would like to have your own tea time check out our teas at http://www.tealightfultea.net/1049

Makes me think that if we took time more often for communicating and conversing with God, maybe he wouldn’t stop us in our tracks like that to get us to slow down and do what we should of in the first place.
How many of you have ever had similar thoughts?
